Hi, everyone: for some reason, multiple comments were caught in the spam filter this weekend. If your comment does not appear promptly, please e-mail me. This blogging platform doesn't automatically notify me that posts are in the spam filter. All comments on the last post should be restored now.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm glad to see everything is back on track, Ella.
ReplyDeleteI see The Duke of Cambridge has granted his first interview with author, Robert Hardman. The interview took place after the wedding and William talks about the Queen and the Monarchy. It will be part of Hardman's book 'Our Queen' wich is due to be published in October. It's all part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Richard Kay mentions that some announcements for the Jubilee celebrations next summer will be made in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteI would post the link to Kay's DM article "Prince William steps into the spotlight" but I'm unable to at this time. Perhaps someone can post it.
Kate and William spend Bank Holiday with the in-laws
ReplyDeleteOn the previous thread Kathryn said...
ReplyDelete"I actually watched all of that Hallmark William and Catherine movie. I'm going to miss those two hours of my life."
Same! It was worse than the other one. I would advise anyone who hasn't seen it to leave it be and keep your two hours. Seriously.
Regarding the German royal wedding that took place over the weekend...I cannot get over Prince Georg Friedrich's resemblance to his great-great grandfather, Kaiser Wilhelm. Wow! Also, he has the same smile as Queen Victoria his great-great-great grandmother. It's uncanny! The power of genetics folks.
ReplyDeleteDo anyone know if there will be a service for the 10th anniversary of 9/11 in London? Just wondering about that.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, I haven't seen the movie. I would like to see a well made movie about the royal family, instead of the ones that just seem to be thrown together at the last minute.
Didn't watch the Hallmark movie, and glad to hear I'm not missing anything.
ReplyDeleteHarry: totally hilarious dancing video. Got to love him! He's clearly enjoying the single life. After 2 holidays with friends this summer, I'm now convinced he is indeed single.
Will + Kate: Wonderful if the Middletons indeed spent the weekend at Birkhall. But does that mean W+K won't be at the Braemar Gathering this coming weekend? Perhaps not. A private get together with family at Birkhall is more like their style.
@Rman: It was so bad that it seemed like they were completely improvising on the spot and made major jumps in time forgetting important things that happened along the way. Like you, I would love to see more quality films about my favorite British Royal Clan such as "The King's Speech"...now that was brilliant.
ReplyDeleteRegarding your question about a 9/11 service in London, I haven't heard or read anything myself.
Annie, I now see there will be services at St Paul's and Abbey for 9/11. Don't know if any other royals will be attending though.
ReplyDeleteI found Harry's video funny but someone has to teach that kid how to dance. I don't know what he was doing, lol.
Dash, it was nice that the Middletons spent some time at Birkhall with William & Catherine and Charles. I'm still wondering though if they will spend some time with the Queen now? That's my kinda of style, spending sometime in the highlands and participating in country pursuits.
I don't see what's so bad about Harry's dancing, it's just like mine :-D

Will try this post again. NY & Co. has drawn up a limited number of Catherine-inspired clothing and accessories titled "The Princess Diaries" The trench (complete with ruffled hem) is sold out in khaki but black is still available. Nice stuff.
ReplyDelete^^^ That reminds me - on the cover of this week's people magazine's "Style Watch" magazine is Kate - apparently the whole issue is devoted to getting her style.
ReplyDeletegood morning everyone guys prince harry dancing like their no one see .. thanks dash for giving me the countdown this weekend the duke and duchess i hope they have a great time with the duchess family any pictures of that any pictures of them well i see chelsy davy mysterious man im daily mail ... and i think zara and sister had a great time together i watch the hallmark william and kate the actress played by lady diana was her looklike and its good thing rather than the lifetime productions

ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's been gone for fourteen years..still truly missed.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Lise. I can't even imagine all good things she would have continued doing and bringing attention to. It's all so tragic to think that she was on the cusp of a complete transformation leaving behind the confines of the Royal Family allowing her more freedom to pick and choose those areas that she wanted to champion. I often think oh what could have been.

ReplyDeleteBritain's Prime Minister David Cameron, his wife Samantha, Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth look on at the main arena during the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering in Scotland
I like the picture of the Queen putting on lipstick.
Annie, that also make me sad. The late Princess of Wales was really on her way turning her life around just before her passing. She was in the beginning of establishing a good relationship with Charles, she was getting ready to work on an aids project with President Clinton and President Nelson Mandela. She was about to go on and do some great things and things just took a turn for the worst. I guess God needed her more though.

I mean God help him with the dancing (lol) but the guy was having some fun and that's a good thing.
^^^ Oh, I think his dancing was cute. He was having a good time at any rate - the DM had up an article that said he was "Dr. Jekylle and Mr. Hyde" because he went from a party to the WellChild awards. He can't go to a party and to an awards ceremony for children?

There's a rumor floating around twitter that Kate is returning to the US without PW for some sort of a private visit - anyone heard anything about that? It's New York she's supposedly going to.
ReplyDeletePictures:
ReplyDeletePrince Albert II of Monaco and his wife Princess Charlene leave after posing for photographers during the Variety Club Golden Jubilee Ball at Harewood House in Leeds, northern England, September 4, 2011. The event which marks the 50th anniversary of the charity in Yorkshire raised 250,000 ($406 000) for children's charity
AJ, no I haven't heard about that. Is this rumor being made by any royal reporters?
ReplyDeleteNo - just by people. One of them was a photographer for a magazine, but I'd never heard of the magazine. Another was a girl who said there was a rumor that Kate was going to stay at the hotel she worked at at the end of the month. She didn't say what hotel. Does Kate know anyone in New York she might be visiting?
ReplyDeleteI hope this link works...in case anyone was curious about the recent wedding Kate and William missed and many of their friends attended, here are pictures. I noticed Kate's friend Trinny Lough is pregnant. Anyone know who she is married to?
ReplyDeleteFashion Week is coming up in NY, but I doubt Kate would be attending that...
ReplyDeleteDonated Land Rover creates a ripple effect
ReplyDeleteBack in April, Land Rover presented an MRT vehicle as a wedding present to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who then passed it on to MREW. That vehicle is currently being kitted out at the North Wales Police Commissioning Centre on Deeside and will soon be on its way to the Patterdale team in the Lake District, winners of a draw by Prince Harry at Clarence House, no less.

ReplyDeleteDocumentary on 'The Queen's Palaces' to be broadcast on BBC One
ReplyDeleteStarting on Monday, 12 September, BBC One will broadcast a three-part landmark television series presented by BBC News reader Fiona Bruce.
The series tells the stories behind the creation of Her Majesty’s official residences – Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse – of the Kings and Queens whose vision and taste left their mark on these great buildings. Throughout each programme Fiona meets curators from the Royal Collection and discovers how the works of art housed within the Palaces shed light on both the history of the royal residences and the artistic development of the nation.
Series schedule on BBC One as follows:
Buckingham Palace: 9pm on Monday, 12 September
Windsor Castle: 9pm on Monday, 19 September
Palace of Holyroodhouse: 9pm on Monday, 26 September
Trailer for The Queen's Palaces
ReplyDeleteNo need to worry for those who can't watch it on BBC ONE, I'm sure it will be up on YouTube for us to see. I can't wait to see this series.
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing out Trinny Lough's pregnancy. I knew she's been married for a while (not sure to who) but didn't know she was pregnant. She seems to be one of Kate's oldest and dearest friends... and I'm sure her pregnancy would stimulate baby thoughts.
ReplyDeleteIn that recent article about Beatrice and her boyfriend they mentioned that they were still discussing taking away her bodyguards. But I thought it had already been done. Does anyone know one way or the other? I don't pay much attention to Beatrice pics, has it been obvious?
ReplyDelete@Lilypad: It is my understanding that Bea and Eug still have their bodyguards. Not very sure though.
ReplyDeleteKate was papped out shopping in John Lewis yesterday (5 September). Only pictures of her back, though.
And HAPPY 28th BIRTHDAY to PIPPA!
I'm still wondering if any of the royals will be attending a service for the 10th anniversary of 9/11? I don't see anything on the royal websites and haven't heard anything in the press so far.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Pippa!
ReplyDeleteBBC News:
ReplyDeleteMiddleton family photos removed from newspaper websites
I doubt we will see HM or Phillip at the 9/11 memorial service. Once see's up in Scotland, there she stays until October. The only time I remember her leaving Balmoral to come back to London was when Diana died. If Charles & Cams are still in town, they may represent. But, as you said Rman, it isn't listed on their websites.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link to The Queen's Palaces, I'll be looking for that on YouTube in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteMaybe one of the younger royals will do 9/11 commemorations?
Not related at all but I'm quite enjoying all the podcasts at the The Royal Collection I'm getting quite a lot of ironing done, watching the photos scroll and listening. There's quite a lot of history and information in there! For instance, did you know that engineers looked at how Henry VIII's armor was built in order to figure out how to make the first spacesuits?
good morning guys well belated happy birthday to pippa middleton yes maybe the younger royals like prince harry to commarate the sept 11 teror attact im looking forward to bbc one the queen

ReplyDeleteKate's style felt on the NY runways (imo, for the better)
is pippa and alex are ready to get married but in pictures that dash post in twitter there no ring im not wonder that the duchess wardrobe are in NYC runways is been hailed as fashion icon of the year is the duchess is pregnant is great news its a twins but the palace said no the reports us magazine as published the article
ReplyDelete@Bluefire: I'm inclined to believe that the Pippa-Alex engagement talk was merely speculation (no one ever confirmed it). As noted, Pippa remains ringless in the latest pictures.

ReplyDeletePrince Harry co-founder and Patron of Sentebale, will attend BGC Partners’ Charity Day, which is held each year to commemorate the company’s 658 employees who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Prince Harry will help raise money for Sentebale and other charities by supporting BGC brokers in deals on the trading floor, BGC Partners, One Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5RD.
Prince Harry's Official Engagement
Pippa's engagement will remain just a rumor until something is confirmed. This rumor reminds me of the one where William & Catherine's engagement was going to be announced on Catherine's 25th birthday.
ReplyDeleteI'm not one to push random rumors, and I'm certainly not holding my breath for this one to be true, but can I admit to hoping that the one on twitter that Kate's coming to NY has something to do with 9/11?

PRINCESS BEATRICE GRADUATES AS PROUD ANDREW AND FERGIE LOOK ON
ReplyDeleteThe Yorks looks great and proud. Buckingham palace Statement: "Princess Beatrice will over the coming months broaden her knowledge and experience to complement her position as a member of the Royal Family. This will involve undertaking a number of internships to develop her experience, particularly in business and philanthropy. She will also continue to be involved with her existing charitable interests and look to progress this work into other relevant areas.”
Andrew & Sarah's joint statement: “We are both incredibly proud of Beatrice and the hard work she has put in to achieve this excellent result. We would also like to thank all of the staff at Goldsmiths for their support of Beatrice.”
I'm looking forward to seeing the great things Beatice will do.
It looks like Chelsy has been rummaging through Kate's closet. Lol. But I hope she's moved on and found someone who wants the same things in life that she does. Btw, did she start her job yet?

ReplyDeleteLol, I remember hearing the joke about the lobster during the coverage. The mic picked up the conversation and I laughed when Catherine laughed. You can see her laughing at the joke in the picture. I thought that was just too funny.
Lilypad5, I don't know much about Chelsy's job status at the moment.

Very happy to hear that Beatrice plans to have a job in the future. Congratulations to her.
ReplyDeleteMy oh my, Chelsy looks really good in these latest pictures. Definitely one of her classiest looks. Her and Taylor seem officially a couple. I guess it's truly over for her and Harry (but hey, that's what we thought last time, too)... Still unsure about her job status with Allen & Overy.
Congratulations to Princess Beatrice! I hope whatever she chooses to do in the future will be a success.

I like the idea of this partnership. I wish there was a foundation set up in Diana's name. Sad to hear about her memorial fund going down the drain. I wonder if there's any plan to create a founadtion in her name now that the memorial fund is closing?

ReplyDelete"But Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge were unable to attend either wedding as they were holidaying in Scotland. It is understood that they are staying with the Queen at Balmoral."
I wonder if that's true? It is a Katie Nicholl article after all in the Wail&Fail. But I hope so. I figure if we don't hear any more about it, it didn't happen.
Revealed: the 'fake' sale of Princess Diana's ball gowns
ReplyDeleteThe dress that Princess Diana wore to dance with John Travolta was reportedly sold this year for £510,000. But all is not as it seems.
I recently purchased a book titled "Diana, Her Life in Fashion" by Georgina Howell in which the auction of her dresses (and the auction amount) is clearly stated. The "Travolta" dress originally brought $210.00 USD at Christie's in NY in which the late Princess attended. To make monies off of her is a travesty to her memory. This Florida woman should be brought to justice.
ReplyDeleteSorry, missed a few zeros. It brought 210,000.00 in USD
ReplyDeleteAlso, in pictures from wedding that Prince of Wales and Camilla attended, why did it appear that they were wearing some sort of tag on left lapel? PS-she really should retire that hat, he even made a comment LOL
ReplyDeleteI want to read the new book that PW gave the interview for - does anyone know when that one comes out?

ReplyDeletePrince William's mission to the Falkands is in jeopardy
ReplyDeleteI don't know how accurate this is. This same story emerges every time the issue of William going to the Falklands is raised, but then William is still on to go. So....?
Argentina will never be happy about it. The question is how much does the UK care? Will they try to send him in secret? Will he go this autumn when everyone is reporting he is going next year? Is this downtime to cover his trip? Who knows. The UK media cooperated with Harry's trip. Maybe they'll cooperate this time around and keep it quiet.
I was kind of hoping PW, Kate or PH would be at one of the services - did anyone see them there?
ReplyDelete@Lise-I think that was a brooch on Camilla-I don't see anything except the flower on Charles' left lapel.
ReplyDelete@AJ They weren't present but PH does have that event tomorrow night. :)
ReplyDeleteAh AJ, here you go...all of them!

The Queen prayed for 9/11 victims in a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral. Prince Philip, William, Kate, and Harry joined her.
Thanks Cece, they look like oval discs on his lapel and her suit.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I really examined the photos of Princess Charlene of Monaco; she looks so miserable. Also, are the objets' for sale for Princess Graces' Foundation?

The Queen's Palaces, BBC One, preview
Michael Hogan previews the first episode of BBC One's The Queen's Palaces, presented by Fiona Bruce.
The series starts tonight folks. I can't wait to see it on YouTube.
@Lise: she is wearing a silver or white-gold oval brooch, and he is wearing a cornflower in his buttonhole-it looks like a dark blue oval. He wears a cornflower often, I think it must be a favorite flower of his.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Charlene looks unhappy at all-she looks like she is becoming more confident with all the cameras. She has never been a grinner-and I remember the QM being quoted saying that it is exhausting when in public trying to never allow your face to fall into repose, because that can photograph as bored or cranky-even when just allowing the smile muscles to relax for a minute.
The Princess Grace-inspired collection was created and is for sale by MontBlanc, with some proceeds going to charity. It must be a pretty hefty promised amount to get Royal permission, presence and approval.
